The Ground Floor Lab is an intensive, experiential, 30 hour residential introduction to the Open Floor curriculum.
You’ll come away with an understanding of the core teachings and practical skills to use them in your movement practice, your everyday life, workplace and communities.

A foundation in the most up to date approaches to embodiment and mindful movement, our Ground Floor Lab is an intensive, experiential, 30 hour introduction to the Open Floor curriculum. You’ll come away with an understanding of the core teachings and practical skills to use them in your movement practice, your everyday life, workplace and communities.Our Ground Floor Labs attract people from a wide range of professional backgrounds interested in expanding their skills and knowledge of using the body in movement as a resource for both personal and professional applications.Curriculum Highlights
- The key concepts and foundational principles of Open Floor movement practice.
- An experiential session dedicated to each of ten Open Floor Movement Resources,
- A taste of how we move on the Open Floor through the Four Dimensions of Embodiment and the Four Relational Hungers.
- An overview of the philosophy and core values that inform the Open Floor teachings.
Each movement session includes a look ‘behind the scenes’ from a professional perspective for an understanding of the intention, structure and purpose of each experience.

The pricing structure of the Ground Floor Lab aligns with Open Floor’s value of inclusivity. There are differences among our participants geographically, in social status, and privilege. We offer more flexible and inclusive price options to embody economic justice.

- Regular price: 800 euros / 1225 € incl room & board
- Generous price: 1000 euros / 1425 € incl room & board
- Subsidised price: 650 euros / 1075 € incl room & board
- Inclusive price: 500 euros / 925 € incl room & board
- Regular price: this is the price that enables us to pay for all costs for the team (2 trainers, 2 assistants, an organiser, a crew of 5) and to support the Open Floor School financially. Please choose this price if you can afford it.
- Generous price: this enables us to offer inclusive prices for others. If you can afford it, your support will be very much appreciated.
- Subsidised price: this price covers basic costs. We offer this so that people who are enthusiastic about the Open Floor curriculum can participate, even if they can’t afford the regular price.
- Inclusive price: there are only 5 spots. This price is for you if you really cannot afford the other prices and you are passionate about Open Floor.

ACCOMODATION : We will dance and will be accommodated in the house “La Picotière” in the nature close to Vendôme.
We will reserve the rooms for you. Please book your room through us, not through the venue. Please do not contact the venue directly.
- There are shared rooms full board available for the full stay for 425 EUR.
- There are a few single rooms full board available on request for 525 EUR.
- Exceptional camping possible.
We will reserve the rooms for you and do the best in considering your preferences, which you can let us know in the application form.
Food
We are nourished by full board consisting of three local, organic, vegetarian meals.
Medical dietary requirements and allergies can be taken into account to a limited extent and has to be clear two weeks in advance.
You can bring your own food if necessary. A fridge is accessible. No cooking facilities.

50 hours of instructed study in Embodied Movement Practices*
To support your understanding of the Open Floor curriculum, it is highly recommended that some of those hours be in Open Floor Movement Practice. If there is none available in your area, you can find online offerings in our calendar of events. You can also further familiarize yourself with Open Floor Movement Practice by reading through the curriculum material
*includes Yoga, Tai Chi, Alexander Technique, Somatic Experiencing, Feldenkrais as well as Movement Meditation/Conscious Dance Practices such as: Open Floor, Soul Motion, Movement Medicine, 5Rhythms, freedomDANCE, ZeroOne, 360 Emergence, Azul, BISO, Tamalpa, Continuum, Laban, Biodanza

TRAVEL :
By train from Paris:
You will arrive at either Vendôme-Villiers TGV station (42 minutes from Paris-Montparnasse) or Vendôme-localité station (2 hours from Paris-Austerlitz). From there, it’s a 20-minute taxi ride. We will organize shared taxi rides.
